which programme?

Recommended Posts

I have 20+ thousand images on my laptop which need backing up, I have a Buffalo 500gig external drive , I have seen online ones which when you plug them in automatically  select new files and upload them to the ext drive, Picassa does this to a certain extent but does anyone know of another programme I can load onto my Buffalo??

thanks, Leon

Some of that would depend on how you have them organised. The simplest way is just to copy everything using Windows explorer (or whatever the equivalent file manager you use) each time you have a folder full from an event or outing, first the originals as soon as you download them, and then the processing/processed files as they are ready.

That will probably only work efficiently if you have them organised by date (that's how I have them)

Many external drives come with backup software but it tends to be a backup of your computer, not just certain files or folders, which may be overkill for what you need or want.
