I am collecting the lens next week, I want to have a go t some portraits get in practise for the baby bump picture in a few weeks, your all going to be sick of me soon ... roll on the BOKEH!!

I was talking about proper optical viewfinders Fuji. I never use an LED monitor screen to focus on!  Also if you have less than perfect eyesight and are not wearing glasses the dioptre adjustment in the optical viewfinder will not correct your vision for the LED screen anyway!

 

Never been an LED screen "Chimper" I must admit, I guess it's because I never had one on a film camera so I rely on the optical viewfinder.  As you say most LED monitor screens are worse than useless in bright sunlight anyway.

 

I don't know how compact camera or smartphone uses manage without a proper optical viewfinder, particularly as they can't usually brace them against their forehead to look in a viewfinder and shade them against the sun. No wonder they have to rely on autofocus rather than judging sharpness on the monitor screen:-
