Tiny Tripod

Recommended Posts

I've been searching for a tiny but nice tripod to strap onto my rucksack so its always handy. The other consideration was cost, I have a 'proper' tripod so didn't want to throw a fortune at a second one and frankly I don't have a fortune lying around to spend on a whim.

This is what I ended up with and having given it a trial today I have to say its a little beauty. Folded length is just 31cm and it only weights 776g yet it seems really nicely made, extends enough for the sort of landscape work I typically do - and - the column splits so it goes virtually flat. The main parts are decent aluminium with only the leg locks being plastic, though they seem pretty solid. I managed to wrestle a good deal from one of the reps but even at retail its not bad compared to stuff from Manfrotto etc.
