Trouble with many price matches is they only match local stores and many actually exclude the Internet.  When buying an 18ft greenhouse I asked for another quote from a fairly large firm with considerable buying power that claimed they price matched and quoted them what a small local agent for the greenhouse I wanted had quoted me.  Their reply was we only sell that make of greenhouse we don't make it so can't match that price. The local agent also sold several makes of greenhouse and he did not make any of them either and probably got a smaller discount on them than they did.  So much for price matching claims, it often looks good in print but often does not mean very much in practice! However it never hurts to ask them for their best price, but we Brits are not very good at negotiating better prices than those marked, something most other nationalities seem to accept as normal trading methods.

You used to be able to take an internet price print out into Jessops and would negociate a price. Maybe not as low as the internet but taking postage into account and also that they used to sock most of the cameras and you could generally take it with you on the day of purchase you didn't come off too badly.

Sometimes they would throw in a memory card or filter.
