Photo editing software advice please

Beth

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have installed Picasa and I've tried and tried to reduce image size, for uploading to forums etc, but I just cannot get along with it all.

The only one that I found worked for me, was Photoshop CS2.  I've seen a recent post regarding this, so may try it on lappy tonight.

I wanted to upload a pic here and I think I've resized it several times using Picasa.  I quite frankly am not friends with it any longer lol......

Just wondered if anyone could offer any advice?

Also, if I uninstall Picasa, will I be losing any images? Silly question, but thought I'd ask.

I need a descent photo editing suite, as Microsoft Office (Windows 7) has locked me out as I haven't got the verification code or similar, so I can't even use the Microsoft Photo Editor. Not sure how to sort out this code and would settle with that without having to ask anyone questions, as I really don't want to be a pain lol.

Thanks loads.

Your pictures will still be in their original folders if you un-install |Picasa, so you won't lose them.

There are lots of free Photo editing software that you can use.

I use Picasa and Fastone image editors amondst others, and there are plenty to be found and downloaded here.

www.download.com

Make sure that you tick for the freeware and for your windows 7 to make sure that they are compatable.

Do you have a Photobucket account as you can upload them to therre and then post the IMG link into your post on here.

It's very easy and anyone on here will help you if you get stuck.

Hi, I've resurrected my photobucket account today but have spent a fair few hours trying to

upload a pic as an avatar.

Ive had probs with the URL link and reduced the pixels to various sizes and the image has looked

slightly distorted.

What's the ideal amount of pixels to set the pic to please?

Still not found an alternative editing suite to Picasa.

Thank you.

Beth. Go to "My Settings" and click "Change Photo" then choose Gravitar.
That will allow you to upload your photo to that avitar site and then you post the link to the pic that you want.

I had problems uploading my avitar but Gravitar works better and I loaded mine first time. Give it a go. It's pretty easy to do if you follow the instructions.
