I need help. canon 70D with the 70-200 F4  I need to keep the motion in the wheels and background so shutter speed less than 200th, preferably down to 80th. iso at 100 but seems to be too bright even when shooting all the way to F10 and F11.

if I use a ND filter for fast photograpjhy like this is the focusing still going to be as quick?  I am learning to use back button focusing but it is taking some getting used too.

suggestions please :)

Firstly, forget auto focus, manual is the way to go. Select a point on the track where you want focus, stick it in manual and shoot.

Have a look at this quick video, it'll explain better what I mean. I know it's Fuji but it still applies.

Not done much in the way of panning and shooting, but zone focusing would work wouldnt it? set up manually using aperture for good range of focus. Software these days is good for rescuing the exposure that may be slightly off. Just a guess
