Just a few books from a bigger collection that I have read in respect of Bonaparte and the Napoleonic Wars. I am fascinated with this period of European history.

I just used the flash light on my iPhone 6 permanently on in a blacked out room. Handheld the camera and let the ISO go to 2500. The result came out better than I though it would, well to my eyes anyway. :)

Not sure about this composition at all, Kev. I think a very tight crop (1:1 even)  would have been more effective - e.g. you don't have to show  the whole of the books.  If you'd gone in very tight and left out the empty spaces above and below, it would have conveyed your passion for the subject with much more intensity.

Happy New Year and nice to see you back :)

I'm wondering if you could try a composition that shows how keen you are on the subject - some of the books open and higgledypiggledy rather than Waterstones. Also, the books look so new and unread - maybe you could do something about that. Most of my favourite books are really curled at the corners etc.

The lighting and colours are superb :)
