Looking at your image details it would seem camera, lens and settings used are nearly the same as mine, except for iso and shutter speed.

Tina do not take this wrong as I do not know your age, but age and health have a direct bearing on how steady you can hand hold a long lens. And for me at my age with my health problems at 300mm even with VR on I need a shutter speed of 1/640 plus to guarantee a shake free shot. So I shoot in shutter priority at 1/640 to 1/800 sec and auto iso with a single point focus, I hope that helps Tina.:)

My age is no secret. I am 71 and dont have a very steady hand either.  :laughing:

That does help. I will try the faster shutter speed, I will also give the auto iso a go too. 

The feeder is in the shade at that time of day so direct sun on the bird.

I have put one their favourite fat tubes on the feeding station in a different part of the garden where there is more light so hopefully they will use that one more as they get used to it.
