Bridge Across The Atlantic

Les

Recommended Posts

This beautiful old stone bridge was imaged from the island of Seil near Oban.Although it looks like it crosses a river its actually a very narrow sea strait, giving its nickname The Bridge Across The Atlantic. The Scottish mainland is on the opposite bank.

Taken with a 4mp CONCORD 4043z compact.

what a beautiful bridge, it always amazes me how they built things like this back before we had all the modern trappings... how old is this one ?

Interesting bit of information about it too.. i wouldnt never have guessed you could cross the atlantic in a car !

I have not been to Seil since about 1980 but I loved the area, and that bridge. I've still got a vinyl single called 'Islands of Beauty' recorded by a local singer and always brings back good memories.
