I have started to revisit some of my old images, to see if my updated knowledge and photoshop skills can improve them or even just to see if I appreciate them now I know more. Its surprising what I have found (my fruit basket for example, and the mini mal, which I recently posted on the forum).
How about you guys doing the same and posting some of your old images here? It really makes me realise how far I have come, what knowledge I have gained and also that I knew more back then, than I thought. Which is good.

Awe inspiring, a very talented artist.
Isn't this the kind of thing they do when a child id missing for years, to show the public how the child will look as it grows?

A sticky one for sure and a position I have found myself in. I tried giving positive comments and suggestions but they backfired so now I would just not comment.
Then again, now I am more confident with my own photography, if I posted an image which I really liked but others thought was pants, I would want to know what they thought was pants about it. I used to take images I thought others would like but now, I follow my heart and take images I like and want to take so any comments would be appreciated but not necessarily taken on board.

Just paid under £50 to hire rugdoctor carpet cleaner. 4 rooms, thats about £12 a room - carpets have come up amazing. Well recommended. Time to put feet up - exhausted! But shiny new rooms so worth it.

I am a lover of windturbines. They are a lot prettier than electricity pylons and I love watching them.

Hello Sam. Wlcome. We have people of all levels/abilities here and noimage is a bad image, if the person who took it likes it. Technically, many images are wrong but thats why photographers are artists. We break the rules.

Like I say, lets keep the thread nice, sarcasm free and that way, its a win win!

This thread seems to be moving away from the original topic and may get a little personal. Keep it nice everyone.

Without meaning to brag, my images look awesome with the right frame (what artist wouldn't say that?). My daughter comissioned me to do a bespoke image for her bathroom, which she said I could also sell as a limited editionprint, as long as she had number 1. It's a pair of red, frilly, spotted panties, on a red washing line with white pegs, black background. In a black frame with white mount against white tiles its the centrepiece of the room and receives amazing comments .The same print, in a plain glass clip frame (to protect it more than toframe it), has little impact.
It's hard getting started but I have sold a few prints so far to friends and colleagues, as well as donating some as raffle prizes to charities (as a publicity thing mainly) and we have to start somewhere!

Thanks all for the advice. Jeremy, I have never made a website, have no one to help me, have no idea how to and did the best I could from the time I had. However, I havent even had 1 enquiry so its pointless spending time and money on it. Im gonna use my spare cash to build stock and start selling at fairs and markets rather than pay someone to improve my site..
I have realised asking for advice is great and results in some positive ideas however for everything 1 person suggests, someone else says the opposite. Some say don't frame, some say do. Some say keep prices down others say dont.
Think I will have to take a suck it and see approach and yes, framed prints look much better and as such, I am building a stock from sale and used frames. I work full time so my 'venture' has to fit in and it's gonna be a long, hard slog.

Im in love with Billy Joe and dream of getting him in front of my camera for some grungy mono shots and some natural 'hair flopping in his eyes while he puts out some riffs' type shots......Ah, Billy...............................
BTW my Avitar was taken just before I set off for my 1st Green Day gig. It was in Birmingham and we were staying in the Hylton. I had ben in the gym and showing off, had slipped in the treadmill and totally skinned my shin with a friction burn....To this day people think I did it stage diving, as thats what I said happened.
