  1. I'm so glad that I inspired you Denis, looking at someones desk is a bit like looking inside their head! Here's a couple more of mine; as you can see, my head is disorganised but I think I know where everything is!

  2. Hello Dee, good to catch up again. It's ironic that you are probably the one who lives furthest away from me, but you are the only member of the forum I've met in person. I wish you all the best with your house move!

  3. Production of this lens started in 1996, so it could be as old as 26 years. I haven't found a serial number on it so can't pin it down any close at the moment. It's certainly in good condition though!

Edit: Just found the serial number. All I can find on the internet is that it's somewhere between 1994 and 2005.

  4. Great band Fuji, I've been following them on Youtube for quite a while now. The cornet player, Shaye Cohn, had a famous father. Al Cohn was a Jazz saxophonist, composer and arranger who played with the Woody Herman band

  5. Continuing from the discovery that my new Nikon D7500 has a focus motor built into the body, and the subsequent success with a 70-300 AF that I thought may be broken (it wouldn't work on my D5100) and a 10.5 AF fisheye, I bought a Nikon 20mm f2.8D. I've been looking out for a prime lens in the 20mm range for general walkabout use, but the Nikon 20mm f1.8G is pricey, bulky and very rarely seen on the second hand market. This lens is small, light, cheap and gives the overall 30mm view on the DX body I was looking for. I have a good feeling that me and this lens are going to get along very well together! ?  I also love the vintage box that this lens was packed in!

  6. A fisheye lens is something that needs to be used sparingly and in moderation, or else it soon becomes clichéd and boring. Up to now it's not been off my camera!  This is a selfie of me in my play pen with some of my toys.   Good composition would normal put me on the third, but facial distortion makes me look strange (keep your comments to yourself ?)  The right hand side of the picture has a 3 stop graduated exposure applied in Darktable to bring down the blown out highlights and it also makes the garden visible.  The area of my desk is quite dark, but I'm happy that I managed to get it all exposed reasonably ok. I'm impressed with the overall quality of this lens. Before I resized this image it was possible to zoom in enough to read my notes in the diary on the bottom left.
