That's customer service

Glad to hear it went well.

I prefer "Cut Off" of the tracks there. My taste is somewhat wide-ranging and in the right situation that could go down rather well.

I know it's a few weeks off but how about one day in the Mayday weekend. (May 3/4/5)

Sounds like fun, I'm in if I don't have to work

Well done Martyn

That's the infamous pollution we've heard so much about?
That's it.

From London bridge today, in the murky smog. The BT tower is normally quite clearly visible from this point, but here it's looking as if it's shrouded in fog

Well done Barbara, a beautiful picture, and well chosen Chris

There's also some stunning scenery, beautiful wildlife and some very friendly people as well

Hope it stays away, Annie. Search 'helpers' are one of the most annoying things I find on work computers slowing everything down, they are often 'side-loaded' along with other programs that you actually do want or need.
Recent typical examples are Google Chrome being installed along with a flashplayer update and the 'ask toolbar' being installed with java update.. Never just accept the default installation settings, check them to make sure there are no added extras.
Also make sure your antivirus is up to date and run a full scan just to be sure nothing else has been put on at the same time.

Well done Fuzzy a cracker of a shot

It does depend what critters you are trying to get but in most cases the main requirement is either luck or knowledge of where and when they are likely to be
Things like butterflies, dragonflies, damselflies you can often (sometimes) get them to land on your hand or walk onto your hand if you place your hand correctly and slowly (Annie has the evidence of that in action). A tripod is normally useless for these since they won't put up with you moving a lump of metal around near them. Use a 'pod at a longer range with a zoom lens instead of a macro lens and you can get good results, though.
For other insects that are slower moving a tripod or monopod is handy

'below the line' is your signature that you change by going to the little arrow beside your name right at the top of the screen, then click on 'settings' and look for ''signature' down the left hand side.
I'm not sure if you need a certain number of posts before you can start changing it, some things you need 30 posts, others you don't

Greetings and welcome to the forum

I shall be going and I think/hope bug will be too...
Just realised that's where I met Annie last year, and it was thanks to her I joined this forum, so you can blame her

This site has just about every 1940's event going in England
This bunch sometimes have other events that aren't on Rod's page

I will be there, probably on Sunday 4th as Bank Hol Monday 5th might be a bit packed.
(I'll start adding some of these events to the calendar, I think I have about 30 in the diary at the moment)

I was having a play with one of these last year and was most impressed, it was quite happy with a heavy body/lens combination on top of a sturdy Manfrotto tripod.

Hi Craig, and welcome

wtg Bill, a cracking shot indeed

I found this one though
looks sturdy and the reviews seem good too!
That's not exactly a lightweight at 3 Kg, but the reviews are good and Slik do have a good reputation. If you're anywhere near Norwich it would be worth nipping into WEX to see what they have, or at least see how the varying weights feel.
there's always one.......
and it's normally Fuzzy
