I entered a Christmas competition on a photo website (Ephotozine) and blow me away, I won a (like new) Mini 3 Pro from MPB Photographic
Paul.
Paul - I've been entering this for years, never won a thing but it's good to hear some do and what a prize! Enjoy it, I know I would

I'm a member of a local photography page and we had to choose our best five images of 2022 which was harder than I thought.
Feel free to join in
Sally B - an aircraft I had been trying to shoot for a while.
Queen by Candlelight - at Lincoln Cathedral. An interesting evening shooting the band in the Nave.
Wing Walker - the clouds, the smoke and one daring lady made for a great shot.
Sir Nigel Gresley - steaming out from under a road bridge.
Lincoln Cathedral - A slightly different view to the norm, The East end at night.
A Happy New 2023 to You All- 5

I'm going to subtract marks for missing the base off the glass but I'll give you 10/10 for the other two

The family of Sir Nigel objected to the inclusion of a Mallard duck with his statue at Kings Cross Station about 4 or 7 years ago and had it removed much to the disapproval of a lot of steam train enthusiasts I think ... !
I didn't know about this Penny, I wonder why they objected, it seems a nice tribute.
Thank you both for the kind comments.

The eclipse started just after 10am and peaked just before 11am, it ended at about 11:50am.
That explains a lot, for some reason I thought it was around 9.00am, assumed I had missed it. Great shots John well done

I checked them out on You tube … Fantastic voices and unusual to see a woman performing Queen’s music .. She has a great voice too .. Bet you really rocked out there Colin !!!
Everyone appeared to enjoy the evening although the stage could have been higher, with the seating being all on one level I would think those at the back didn't get a great view. Having said that in the second half most were up and dancing. The acoustics were really spot on and if they bring 'Meatloaf by Candlelight' to Lincoln I think we might be going.

70 years ago, on Saturday 30 August 1952, history was made as Avro Type 698, VX770, took to the sky for the first time.
It was the prototype for the Avro Vulcan and the birth of this iconic aircraft.
My photo shows Vulcan XH558 on one of her last flights over the UK, the shape and design still looks good 70 years later.

Display Practice 02/23
in Transport
Posted
My first visit to Raf Coningsby this year for the over base practice, sadly the plane went 'tech' due to a fuel problem and with the low cloud starting to build the display was stopped.
Although I think the sun picture was a bit of a bonus with the cloud covering.
Practice hight was 1500ft
