    Some lovely images again this week, making it quite difficult to choose. My favourite, though, is this one by Bill. The colours are fantastic, with a wonderfully moody sky, and there's a nice lead-in with the pathway through the crop. The light is good, too, catching the trees in the middle ground well.

    If I were still painting landscapes, I'd love to have a go at this one!

    A good range of subjects and treatments this week, and yet again, I've gone for a subject that doesn't usually appeal to me at all. I'm not in the least bit interested in any form of competitive sport, but this image really stands out for me. The Cisco Kid, by John2, has been caught at exactly the right moment, with a fantastic motion blur, but the car and its driver pin sharp. I hate to think where you must have been standing to get this front-on view!

    This week's choice is a little different for me, as I don't often choose portraits. But this chap, in Fuji's 'Practicing what I preach' thread, really appeals. He looks a true character, and Fuji has caught his very direct gaze with a lovely sharp photograph. The blurred background puts the focus squarely on the man's face.

    There have been some absolute stonkers this week, making it very difficult to choose just one, but the absolute stand-out photo for me is this one, Black Pearl's Poppies. I could see this on a poster or a calendar. I love the colours in it, and with that soft light it's just bursting with atmosphere. There's a great depth in it too, with the clearer poppies in the foreground, the middle band of poppies and trees, and then the distant hills. Well done BP!
