sorry I have barely been on here lately, had a niggle in the back of my mind but it's not something someone had done here just generally not wanted to post anything.... then I had a holiday in Devon which was brilliant, even the rainy days . sadly I'm back to work tomorrow
so I'll try and get beck into posting stuff here, I have some nice milky water to post

i have been to 2 clubs... I just don't get them, then again I was the youngest (39) by about 50 years.... seeing a man trying to use a 4/3rds canera with a monopod inside taking macro shots through the screen on the back was quite amusing.
then there was the "all the gear no idea" clan
then the" spray and prayers" (they also cross over to the above.)
then the "I'll edit it so much you can no longer see what it is" group
then the "professionals" who look down there nose at all the other minions in the club room.
my only good experience was getting to use the studio lighting, i was thinking of joining just to use it for my own pleasure.....

I got a message today from my local track asking me to share my photo's, we got onto the subject of media access.
last year they point blank refused, this year I think they realise they need people like me as much as I need them, the only thing I need is £5M Public liability insurance.
as a NON professional can I get this? and how much does it cost?
thanks, Leon

hello and welcome...... you say when I grow up?... how young are you?

#1 and #3 - good!
#2 - group shot, with one edge of the group by a window? Not your best idea, but Paul's edit seems to have done the trick
not my idea I was told that was the ONLY place available, so I did what I could...

as for lighting ect.... a NON TTL flash and not much room made it difficult the backdrop/banner was in a doorway!, all images are generally going to be viewed on websites so they are happy with the results so far

Tomorrow I'm off to be the Togger for a fund raising event for http://www.beechwoodcancercare.org.uk/ .
my friend works for a building company who are funding the event, Manchester's largest radio station are sending a couple of reporters to check us all out too.
so it will be a fun day I hope, plus my name will be passed round to plenty of people as I volunteered to work for free
