  1. my lad had his school photo done the other week, I scanned it in to put it on facebook for people to see, then we lost the original so I copied it on to usb then took it to ASDA to be reprinted...

... they had me wait an hour then showed me the print and said I can not have it... NO exif data as it was a scan... am I right to be annoyed or are they right?

I would not mind but the picture is not as good as I could of done!!

opinions please... has anyone ever done School photo's?

  2. brave covers so many things...... life would be so boring if people didnt take riske, as an ex mountain biker (not to this degree of risk) and as a togger who tends to wonder off alone and climb down steep banks to take photographs I suppose I am in the stupid/foolhardy club too?

I also have full respect for anyone who takes the time to look after other people, especially disabled.

  3. if it lasted a few weeks like it should it would not bother me as much

but the Scrooge in me, my mum was a nurse, Christmas day meant double time so i remember most of my xmas's having to be quiet as my mum was in bed having worked Xmas eve, then she would work new years eve too.... I'll leave it there

I try my hardest to make it nice for the kids, but I do find it hard, living in the digital age it just means a big expensive time filling the bottomless pit Xmas fund to fill Santa's sack...

    merry f****ing xmas..

  4. personally ifI were you I would do what I did, buy 2nd hand.

I picked up a canon 1000d for £100 then bought a couple of lenses...

if you cannot live without the zoom range why not looh for a good bridge as people say above, stick with the better brand like Sony, Fuji, Panasonic, Canon ect...  if you want to progress in photography, maybe look for one that will take a flash and filters? (a thread on the front of the lens)  my friend has a Nikon Bridge but she can't use filters so she never uses it..

  5. someone I know gave his HS20 away when he picked up a 550D, said he wwas happy to loose the focal length for image quality.....

I think if you are progressing UP to a bridge they are a big step up, but going backwards to one you will notice a big difference?  depending on what YOU use it for of course... if you get offered one for free then take it, you can't loose then can you :)

  6. Hi, Denis,

    Then........Street Photography......should be your Forte?

    FUJI

I was going to same the same thing, then I thought of the safety issues, having visited London many times as a courier, I can see it is not really a friendly place.... you do have Kew gardens :)   and some of the cityscapes on a nice clear night must be fantastic?

  7. I really like the images on your website.........................

thanks, the quality one them is massively reduced, someone I know made it for free for me so I can't complain.

have look through my Flickr there are loads on there

  8. there are a few threads on here asking about what camera ect.... as  said in the post unless you are printing huge prints where are you going to display them...does the pixel count matter that muck really?

here are 2 sites acquaintances of mine run, yes it's motorsport based but please have a look at the quality of the pictures.

and my own page .. http://www.leonwallphotography.co.uk/

what's my point?   all taken on Canon 1100D's 10.1 MP

THE only thing these camera's have against them is speed, I have met the limits of my camera a few times with it's 3FPS  but most of you will never meed something that does 10FPS unless you tent to spray and prey.

    just my opinion...
