  1. Sorry as have always kept dedicated flash on my camera's, as with manual flashes you are always calculating light levels, exposure, etc etc, when I know that ETTL can also cause major issues, the dedication to flash can give you better control over certain modes within the camera, so Flash Exposure, where you can meter up to 3 stops with the dedication, I know money is always tight when your looking at new gear / upgrades, but I have found that saving that little harder can get you want, rather than something you might find hard to use Steve
  2. If anyone wants to listen / buy the album, its on download :-) https://crimsonties.bandcamp.com Cheers Steve
  3. Hi gang Just got myself a new 2TB Passport Drive to use purely for all my Pictures that I have taken over the Digital Years, and looking through the folders I have on the old drive that Im Backing Up, I thought... What A Mess !!!! So looking at starting a File System for all the pics etc, Raw and Jpegs, and thought OK do it in Years, then sub folder to what and where, but then if its Landscape, Portrait, then who what !!!!!!!! AAARRRRGGGHHHHH So thought to myself.... How do you store them, what system works best for you !!!! So had to ask !!! Cheers Steve

    Hi

Hi Andy, hope you find what your looking for in our family... We offer advice at every level, and look forward to seeing your images If you have any problems then we have a great team to help you on your way Steve
  5. Will hope to be pleasant surprised with Film Shots again, I would say I still use film, but my B&W Ilford film has been in camera for nearly a year..... Getting scared to see the results, as too used to digital.. where I know I'm Pants lol
  6. Hi Steve, Hope you find what your looking for :-)
  7. No thats great, I learnt the hard way, got some images printed off, then had the shock of my life, then had the usual rant about Calibration, to become ever so glum lol So Sorry.... I Calibrate weekly :-( lol
  8. Hi Phil, Yes you should, unless you get a good representation from your print provider Recently had to Re-Do an album cover for my sons band, and having a calibrated Screen ( A Samsung 32" HD Telly ) I was stunned how bad the file was :-(
  9. Hi Gang... Just had the biggest laugh with a great mate that I met on a Forum... Still talking about screen calibration... The "Who Do " and " Who Don't " OMG and thought...... Who Do lol
  10. The biggest issue that we have had, is that they were only interested in items over £1,000 as under that it falls into the General House insurance.. But I pointed out that yes, only 1 of my lenses is above that, but as a "Bag" of equipment is classed as 1 Item, it has the £5,000 of gear inside it! So would they then just pay up to the £1,000 So being Specific for safety. as I know they would try and wriggle out of paying, Steve
  11. In a recent thread, I asked regarding a good bridge camera for a good friend, and thanks to the replies I have just purchased a... Fujifilm FinePix HS20EXR 16.0MP ?And I'm sure he will love it, and after winning the item, he asked if it has an "Idiot Button" and I guess that means "AUTO" mode lol Cheers Gang Steve
  12. Have it !!!!! Its probably insured for more lol :-)
  13. Surely if your fronted by someone with any sort of Knife, you would gladly hand over your necklace lol...
  14. Hi Gang, Been itemising and photographing all my Camera Equipment, and putting costs against it all so that The Wife can have the file, as all insured with her company, OMG I have far too much gear, and shocked at what I have spent... At least its all done now The biggest issue has been the rise in "New" costs, as we have New for Old Policy that covers me with all bags ( Full of Gear ) and they want proof that I actually have it !!!!
  15. Oh No, My son is not allowed to sing lol, he is the one that plays no part in this song lol, Keyboard Player lol.. The Singer is Harrison, and he had an amazing range, They seem to enjoy iy at the moment, and the pocket money is good for them, Dads the Roady lol
  16. Please enlighten me to where I asked about the Glass, I asked about what is a good Bridge, and again the Admin is the one that is off topic ??? Anyway as said, Thanks to the ones that have given sound advice.. Very much appreciated, I'm sure he will sway to what his wallet will allow, And of course the most important advice that I could offer, Do you Like It, Does it feel good, are you happy !!
  17. Yes I see that, I asked a simple question for a mate looking for a half decent Bridge Camera, and seemed to unleash a war on what glass is best, and it takes an admin to start the topic going way off line, as I mentioned from the start, he is upgrading from a compact to something a little better with a half decent image... And as said I have thanked the members with the positive reply's, Im really not sure he is worried with who, what, of how the name on the lens got there ???
  18. Come on guys, todays glass is yesterdays glass tomorrow, I have the Canon 28-70mm f2.8 L USM lens, had it on my EOS 5 film camera, it was the lens to have, now its the lens not too, as 24-70 out, then the 24-105 etc etc etc... But still great glass, yes not weatherproof, but I have a bin liner... What we can afford and how we use it must be worth more than a discussion over who makes better what ???
  19. Thanks mate, as long as he is enjoying it, and earning some small wage with them, at his age ( 18 ) Im so happy, as life gets so serious so quickly
  20. My Sons Band, Crimson Ties, Have their first Album out now This is a cover from the Darkness Steve
  21. They have loads on Youtube mate, Where is the TIPF Album ???
  22. Hi Gang, Its not everyday that your Children have a go at something that they actually enjoy.... Well my Son has played Piano / Keyboard for a few years, is at College doing Music too... Got together with a few mates, in a Band now, and just completed their First Album ( Well CD as Album is my version lol ) Well Proud Dad !! Steve
  23. Its a Tanker Delivery Light on A Petrol Forecourt, for night time deliveries of Fuel, or late afternoon at this time of year lol
  24. A good discussion guys, as for putting your name on someone else's Lens, then car manufacturers do it all the time... Ford Galaxy ( VW Sharon ) Ford Ranger ( Mazda BT50 ) etc etc, they are "Licensed" to put their name under manufacture agreements, The glass is probably one company, the assemble by another, and sold under someone else.. Lets look at the top end of glass, Hasselblad etc, Are they really worth £20,000 as half the issue with poor quality images, is usually the Person Operating it Anyway spoke to mate today, he is going to look at your recommendations, and the Seller Refirbs look a great deal, as you can get a warranty etc too Cheers Gang Steve
