  1. I won't buy online

That's a very silly thing to say. When I bought my 650D it was £100.99 cheaper than the Jessops price buying it on line it came from 1st Cameras Imaging Centre in Newcastle-under-Lyme this is a small shop in the town centre. So get off your high horse and join the real world.

I could try and set up a photography firm but its a dying business as more people have digital cameras.

People will always want good photographers to capture their love ones etc.

You may want to consider renting space in your local shopping centre or sub renting space within a shop and offer children's portraiture at very realistic prices (not jessops prices).

I print my own photos and a 8 x 6 print costs me £0.20 including ink, that's using genuine Epson inks and Ilford Galerie Smooth Lustre Duo. Buying 25 single mounts including backing board with single vee grove from this guy costs me £1.20 each. This brings the total cost to £1.40 for 8 x 6 print and mount.

  2. Hi team

I am looking for a muslin backdrop in rust / brown. I found one from Photovidozone but when I tried to call them I was told the number was invalid and the address they give on their website belongs to some other company who have never heard of them.

So I was wondering if any of you boys and girls know of any where else I could get something similar if not the same. Amazon have a selection but drawn a blank.

  3. A huge THANK YOU! all......the restoration of my personal Workspace cured it......it took ages to sort....all very frustrating and annoying:

Phil....if I press SHIFT/PRT/SCRN I just get the pic in the window........if I Press ALT SCR/PRT/SCRN I get Powerpoint!...never have worked screen print out on my Desktop ;-(

    FUJI

You may have your key board locked, unlock key board and just press PrtScn no need to hold down any other key at the same time.

  4. Hi Team

I took some photos this afternoon of grandson and I am most disappointed with the results. The flash did not fire every time, this is not the fault of the flash gun it just that it carnet recycle itself very rapidly. So any idea what flash gun I should put in my letter to Santa ?

Been looking at the Canon Speedlite 430EX II Flashgun with a recycle time of approximately 3 sec

Any other ideas or recommendations will be most welcomed.

Present flash gun 2 x Jessops 360AFDC, Camera Canon 650D

  5. Received this email from a friend and thought I would pass it on.

Subject: DON'T IGNORE THIS ONE - CHECK YOUR DEBIT/CREDIT CARD RECEIPTS - THIS IS ANOTHER SCAM THAT HAS REARED ITS UGLY HEAD

CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS BEFORE LEAVING THE CHECK-OUT

I bought a bunch of stuff, over £150, & I glanced at my receipt as the cashier was handing me the bags. I saw a cash-back of £40. I told her I didn't request a cash back & to delete it. She said I'd have to take the £40 because she couldn't delete it. I told Her to call a supervisor. Supervisor came & said I'd have to take it.. I said NO! Taking the £40 would be a cash advance against my Credit card & I wasn't paying interest on a cash advance!!!!! If they couldn't delete it then they would have to delete the whole order. So the supervisor had the cashier delete the whole order & re-scan everything!

The second time I looked at the electronic pad before I signed & a cash-back of £20 popped up. At that point I told the cashier & she deleted it. The total came out right. The cashier agreed that the Electronic Pad must be defective. Obviously the cashier knew the electronic pad was defective because she NEVER offered me the £40 at the beginning.

Can you imagine how many people went through before me & at the end of her shift how much money she pocketed? Just to alert everyone. My co worker went to Milford , Sainsbury’s last week. She had her items rung up by the cashier. The cashier hurried her along and didn't give her a receipt. She asked the cashier for a receipt and the cashier was annoyed and gave it to her. My co worker didn't look at her receipt until later that night. The receipt showed that she asked for £20 cash back. SHE DID NOT ASK FOR CASH BACK! My co-worker called Sainsbury’s who investigated but could not see the cashier pocket the money. She then called her niece who works for the bank and her niece told her this. This is a new scam going on.

The cashier will key in that you asked for cash back and then hand it to her friend who is the next person in the queue.

Please, please, please check your receipts right away when using credit or debit cards! This is NOT limited to Sainsbury’s; they are one of the largest retailers so they have the most incidents.

THIS SCAM CAN BE DONE ANYWHERE, AT ANY RETAIL OR WHOLESALE LOCATION!!!

BEFORE LEAVING THE CHECK-OUT........CHECK YOUR RECEIPT!!!!!

  7. Hi Team

I have always been somewhat in fact very disappointed in the formal shoots I attempt of my grandchildren; this is mainly due to the unwanted background.

So I was thinking would it be possible to use a slide projection screen.

Any one used one, know of any problems using one or any other ideas ?
