What a colourful bird - that first shot is terrific!

That makes me think of the movie "Krull"!
Is the little one its baby or its dinner?

Thanks, John. I'm hoping the buddleia attracts a few more visitors over the next few weeks.

Interesting to see bees on leaves rather than flowers. I think #3 is my favourite.

Amazing detail, Paul!

There were plenty of excellent images to choose from this week.
Honourable mentions go to:
JohnTwo for Forest Shield Bug and Rybear for Cam Ivy Sunrise
But my choice for this week is Paul's "Diffuser Test":
The image descriptions sounds like something out of a sci-fi horror movie, but the photo itself really is fascinating. Well done, Paul!

I've never been there... it does look quite quite spectacular!
Nice use of the wall to add foreground interest.- 1

It's my turn to select POTW again. There doesn't seem to have been that many uploads this week, but there were a few good'uns to choose from.
Honourable mentions go to:
Matt Grey for Wheal Trewavas #2 - a great scene from my favourite part of the country.
Rybear for Waterfall on the River Irfron nr Abergwesen - there are some wonderful water shots in this post
But this week's winner is:
ColinB has captured the heat from the afterburner of the typhoon perfectly here. This is a good example of when to break the "rules" of composition - the plane is travelling of of the frame but for me, the most interesting part of the image is behind it. The other pictures in the thread HERE are well worth a look too.
Well done, Colin!

Very nice, Ryland - I particularly like the whirlpool in the first one.

Great shots, Colin. I love the way you can really see the heat in the first one.

Very well caught!

I definitely like the position of the mine buildings better in this one. I have to agree with James about the sea though.
Do you have enough sea in the original shot to recrop?
-
Not sure about the name now, but the lady in the National Trust centre at Bottallack told us the one at the top there was used as the mine in the latest series. They were due to be filming there a couple of weeks after we visited. (That was the same holiday we saw them filming in Charlestown.)
