  1. Home of the RAF's heavy stuff. Was a quiet day really not of the planes i saw take off returned whislt i was there only one silly slow shutter speed on the shot of the A400 taxying at 1/50 way out in distance aim was for a full circle as you can see from the yellow tipped prop blades was a hard shot as there is a 2mtr fence do a step ladder is used and a 100-400mm lens @ 400mm with 1.4x fitted as well hand held although i did rest left arm on top of fence. Caught one of the pilots doing curcuits in his own little plane and a C17 returning from Europe

Brrrrrrr... you can feel the icy wind in this picture ...I really like the that golden  morning  light  that  lifts this image  almost to another dimension . Very atmospheric and  presumably this was somewhere on the Mach loop . A memorable  image ....

Thank you, yes it’s taken from the car park at one of the spots in the Mach Loop

The C5 Galaxy seems to defy gravity ... and the initial version I believe made it's debut in the late 60s ! Awesome is the right adjective for it Monkey ... a superb collection of aircraft images ..

A very nice shot and the colour in the clouds really helps

Thank you it’s only really decent shot I’ve got of this area, have tried a few times but the others just seemed a bit bland so to speak even on occasions I’ve tried shooting from the other side of the road bridge behind me looking thru all the bridges to get a shot but not happy with them,

ps there are 3 bridges here inc this one there is the middle one I’m stood on to take this image and the current road one behind me A470

That's a steep old climb up there ...  but worth it for the views ..... You have to be prepared for  sudden changes in the weather and conditions too I imagine so planning   is important . Was this a recent hike ...?

Thanks, we took the rather longer way up up from Borrowdale roughly 16 mile round trip and it was hard work I was proper shattered when I got back to tent, This visit was 2017 but we have been up Scaffell again 2018 and in the area hiking several times since last time in Borrowdale was July this year. And yes you do have to be well prepared whenever you go up the mountains good quality hiking boots, clothing, waterproofs and map systems especially as I do like to get off the beaten tracks and away from other people lol especially Peak District and Wales when plane spotting, your definitely correct weather changes very fast up high and mountains do create their own mini climate

A cracking set of  photos Monkey ... I  am just awestruck by  the Osprey ... morphing  from  helicopter mode to plane mode  whilst flying just blows my mind ... When we lived in Suffolk in the late 70's  and early 80s we regularly took our two sons to Mildenhall and Lakenheath  to the Air Shows . Happy days ....

    Thanks Clicker

Maybe  file size exceeded  the ceiling on a single post ... I'd have to check to see what that is now ... Nevertheless that's a really  good sequence of images  Monkey ....  looks to me as if owt aerial  is in the vicinity of you and your camera, you've  got it nailed !! 👍

Thank you it was quite challenging they dived so quickly
