A question for you do any of you use filters whether it would be for special effects, UV Filters, Polarizing, etc . I used to use them with film camera's and still have some on lenses now. What I want to know if you do use them in digital photography what ones would suit to cover all area's. I am not sure if they are still being used. I do have quite a few but some just are too small for today's lenses
Would like your opinions on what you use and what for also perhaps what I would need to buy for today's digital age. Look forward to you comments and suggestions.

At a guess the K-S2 comes 'kitted' with the 18-55mm which is to become redundant in favour of the far better 18-135mm
You have got it in one I wanted something that would cover a wide range of shots. And the other reason I bought it S/H for a lot less than a New one. Actually I could have got a K-S2 with the 18-135mm but the camera would have been Black and I wanted the Green one just to be different.

Welcome to the forums Mick, when I was college in the mid 80's I used a Pentax K1000 SLR and then I didn't have a camera for a long long time, then around 2000ish I bought a Lumix JD 3300 Z3, then I had a Canon EOS 300 from 2004 onwards. It wasn't until June 2014 That I got another Digital Camera - Canon EOS 100D, which I've still got and use everyday. It's quite a decent little camera for the price.
The Canon EOS 100D is a great little camera. My brother had one some time ago and he loved it. I have only kept with Pentax because I still have some early lens that I use, SMC Pentax -FA 1:4.5-5.6 80 320mm zoom which I used to capture the picture of the Wood Pigeon , and a SMC Pentax A zoom 1:3.5-4.5 35-70mm are just a couple I have always like using.

Hi Everyone,
I thought I should introduce myself. My name is Mick and I live in sunny Eastbourne on the south coast. I have recently retired about a month ago, so as I have a lot more time on my hands now I thought I would return to a pastime I did over 8 years ago photography. To be honest I started my photography journey some 50 years ago at the age of 15 with a Zenit E SLR Camera and spent time with a mate as we both had the same camera just taking photos of everything we could find. But back then with little pocket money and the cost of the film it wasn't long before I gave it a rest for a few years. I then moved on to a Pentax ME I could afford to buy the film at that time as was working and as a teenager into my 20s had a bit of spare cash to pursue what I enjoyed doing.
Again thing in my life changed and gave it a break for more than 10-15 years. After that break I then bought a Pentax A and a few lenses to go with it, and I was back trying to learn all the thing I had forgot over the years. But again only lasted for a couple of years and with a family that had to come first I sold everything, and gave it a rest again. Around 8 years ago I got the bug again and purchased a Pentax K10 and a couple of lenses to start again, you will be pleased to know I still have all the equipment and have just dusted it all off and started it all over again.
I would like to get back into my Wildlife and Macro again with more time and some retirement money I would like to get another Camera I am thinking on another Pentax the Pentax K-S2 Body with the 18-50 WR lens in Forest Green if I can find a shop which has one in stock. I will also looking for a dedicated macro lens any suggestions welcome.
Anyway I think I have said enough about me look forward to posting some pictures soon, oh and please be gentle on the critique with my firs few pictures as I am a little rusty, or it could be my age.
