Looking forward to hearing about it.

As said above, a great way to get / keep fit. I cycle about 60 miles a week to work and back that up with 25,000m a week on a Concept 2 rower I have at home. It's all too easy to lose the hard gained fitness. Enjoy

Congrats. I love getting a new lens through the post. :)

Thank all. I might see if I can take her somewhere to get it done rather than risk getting it rejected.

Hi,
We are currently trying to get a passport photo for our 3 month old baby. We have just been to the local photo booth and wasted £5 on a set of pictures showing half the face of a screaming baby.
I can obviously take some pics which would e suitable but i need to resize them correctly and then get them printed. Can anyone please help by letting me know how to do this? I have LR5 on my Macbook but have no idea how to size any picture correctly (45mm x 35mm)
Thanks

I think they look great. If you like the way you process your work and it is what you wanted to achieve why worry. If you can get anything like these you'd get a big thumbs up from me. Looking at the subjects you come across I'd not be surprised.
I love his Warhol and Hepburn portraits.

Hi,
After trying to learn about using my flash Better I am going to try under exposing the ambient light whilst using the flash to light the main subject. I understand I can do this by taking an initial meter reading and then using the manual setting to under expose by a couple stops or so and then use the flash either TTL or manual.
My question is, can I use my exposure compensation from the camera set to minus 2 rather than going manual, and then use the flash TTL and get the same result, or will the flash aim to light at the minus 2 stop setting. If this is the case it I set + 2 stops on the flash will I get the desired result?
I know i will probably need to go manual to get the shots I really want at some point but I am just wondering if I have a grasp of this.
I have a 70D and 5D3 along with an ST E3 RT and a Canon 600EX RT and 2 YN600EX RT's.
Thanks.

If you want to protect the lens with a decent filter, why not get a polariser?
As for UV, you can apply the effect of these (if required) in software like Photoshop.
Won't a polariser reduce the light and therefore partially negate he advantage of a reasonably fast lens?

Many thanks. I was looking as Canon recommend one for dust protection. To be fair I won't be shooting in adverse conditions so maybe I won't bother. I'll look at the Hoya ones you suggest though.
Cheers.

Hi all,
I have ordered a 16-35 f4L IS lens and have a 70-200 2.8L IS II and am looking to get UV filters for these. I'd prefer not to lose any stops by fitting these so wondered if anyone could recommend me some filters?
Thanks all.

I'd like to see the shot from those in the foreground ( if they had a camera)

No just the print and she will frame it herself.
It has cost me £18.00 and I have no idea what to ask her for. What about maybe £23.00 would that be ok?
I'd say at least £40 but as I'm not experienced in this area I could be miles off. £5 isn't much profit although I guess you're not looking to make a living out of it.

Welcome. Great site here. Enjoy.

Congrats. Brilliant shot.

Not sure where they are but I've used them a few times with no issues. The only annoyance is when they ask you to ring them and try to sell you extra bits. I just email back now and say I don't need any batteries, warranty, filters etc and just post it!

I've just taken delivery of my new Tamron 150-600 f5/6.3 and think this is going to be a lens I get a lot of use from. I haven't been able to actually try it outside other than through the window just to see how it focuses at distance.
I can say one thing it feels a hefty lens but focuses great at all lengths and at small apertures too. The VC works great, just as my other Tamron lenses and for £699 I think it's a bargain.
On my 70D it certainly pulls in the distance but I guess at a real 960mm it's bound to. I've not tried it on my 5D3 yet but can't wait to actually get outside and take some proper shots so I can check out the IQ.

I've just downloaded it, I won't have chance to play just yet but at first look it seems impressive. If it's only £39.99 when finished I bet it will take some business from PS.

I have just replace my old cheap camera bag with a (well actually 2, don't ask) Lowe Pro Pro tactic 450 bags. I am very impressed with the quality and will be setting up my gear in there shortly.
I just wondered what you guys use and how you have them set up, and what you carry around on a day to day basis.
As always pics would be welcome
I'll post some of mine once I finalise the set up.

They send it as a gift, so hopefully all will be fine.
Paul.
Mine was quoted as £27 and I had to prove the price paid which was £185. Hopefully you'll be ok though they are getting more strict with things from Hong Kong and China.
