Love the birds eye view you get with a drone ....

As you can see from the image, the area of East Yorkshire I live in is very flat, no hills for miles, so it does make a change for me to be able to get this perspective.

does it save still images in RAW or are you stuck with JPG?

It'll do both. I don't bother with the Jpegs, DNG only, although the dynamic range isn't great it does give some leeway for PP.

  2. Just 2 night shifts to go then (hopefully) back to normality.

I was determined to get out for an hour last night after work, so I grabbed the drone and visited Wressle, a small local village.
That's Wressle Castle in the BG, my intentions were to do a fly-by and grab some footage, the castle is only open to the public one weekend a year, which, coincidentally, is this coming weekend. Now, the only access is via the riverbank, and as you can see there were quite a few cows about. I have a particular aversion to cows following an incident some years ago where myself and the family were charged by half a dozen, I'm not sure they would have taken kindly to a buzzing drone so I wasn't prepared to venture any closer. Of course, I could have flown there from where I was stood but that would have meant flouncing the law, the drone would have been beyond line-of-sight which is illegal, being a responsible law abiding citizen I wasn't prepared to do that.

  3. Not a lot happening for me today, spent the first half in bed after a night shift and the rest of the afternoon trying to figure out how to overcome the Flickr linking problem.

So, this from me today. 10 days ago I planted a wisteria, hoping it will eventually give us some separation from the neighbours. I'm taking a picture a day during the growing season, if only to convince myself that I don't kill every plant I touch
Trouble is, I'm clueless as to what to do now, does it need pruning or do I just leave it to get on with it?

  4. It seems we may need to relent and allow external linking, Flickr seem determined to make it as difficult as possible.

What's odd is that I can still edit images to remove the link, I've done this to your last image above and the image I posted, but I couldn't expect all members to have to go through the same messing around every time they post an image.
I'll amend my Image Posting Guidelines to reflect the change, I'll also remove all these posts in this topic once you've had chance to read and reply.

  5. All I can suggest is that you keep trying, you'll know if you get it right without me having to check, clicking the image shouldn't open a new tab and take you to the Flickr website.

You can do your practising here, once you get sorted I'll delete all these comments and tidy up the thread for you.

  6. I can only assume that there's something you're missing along the way, what puzzles me is that your earlier posts were fine.

Inside Flickr, are you clicking the download arrow then selecting 'View all sizes'? This loads another page where you can select the size of image you're wanting to post here on the forum, you then right click the image and copy the URL, it's this that you paste into 'Insert other media > Insert image from URL' .

Test to put link into insert other media

Neither of the above worked I'm afraid, I still had to remove the links.

Have a look at the link in my signature for help on posting images to TIPF, although a couple of years old now, the instructions on posting images from Flickr still apply, nothings changed.
