Flypast

One of the more challenging shots from a couple of weeks ago. These things are damned fast!

 

 

It's a Spitfire Mk LFIXe, the clipped wings being optimised for low flight (apparently), although they raised a few eyebrows on the day. Much reading of the web ensued, I have no doubt.

If the weather is dry I shall be taking a few shots of a Lancaster this Saturday (along with one or two other WW2 planes).

One had a fly past at Haworth with the white stripes on the wings D Day colours I think

Too fast and the houses are too close to get a shot

It was fast and it came from nowhere. I also looked up the clipped wing thing when I got in.

No doubt you are going to East Kirkby, a drome I know well from the 40s, I see you are a yellow belly, I was born and grew up in Horncastle, no ties there now though.

East Kirkby (Lincs Aviation Museum)  looking in at Coningsby on my return home. I'm looking for some outdoor shots so if the weather isn't looking good I'll postpone until later.
