Neepsend, Sheffield

Hello all,

Neepsend an old industrial area of inner city Sheffield one Sunday afternoon. I go there from time to time at the weekend because there aren't so many workers cars parked and it's easier to get pics of the buildings. There are some lovely old ones gradually decaying I try to get there before they get yuppified.

This bit of the area is quite industrially affluent and while I was making the pics I thought a figure would just set it off nicely. I posed for this and chose a pose that would make me stand out incongruously from the mundane rest of it and used the colour from the red door bisected by the pillar next to me.

This image was then included in a video I made called Transitions and I submitted it to an art call in Slovenia it was accepted and screened from the 14th to the 16th September 2017 and the Digital Big Screen Festival in Trbovlje. It won first prze and I was awarded 250 Euros which I declined and asked the curator to give to a local cause.

Cheers

Great conceptual thinking and a wonderfully generous outcome.

Hello Kev,

Thanks for the unusual It's what I strive to do and I love posing :-)

Hello Bill,

Many thanks for the conceptual, I mostly go at things without much thought until afterwards, then I find that I can write about them and fit some images into a video and the theme of an art call. I didn't want the money I do it for the love of it, it's the most demanding and yet the most rewarding thing I've ever done, both artisticly and technically.

I have sold one video but I only ask for the what it costs. I've just built myself a new PC and can now burn M-Discs with a one thousand year life instead of having to outsource them.

Hello Phil,

Thanks for echoing Kev's comments there is a one minute preview link on the first page of my web site, I have various iterations of the video the one screened in Slovenia was all male and the one for sale is both female and male.

Cheers all
