  2. Thank you everyone….Except for the intense heat of late, I am feeling 100 % better….it is obvious to me now that, my ultra slow heart beat had been affecting my stamina for some months. FUJI
  3. Pure Gold….. Very well ,observed and recorded….. FUJI
  4. It’s me again Anthony…. One Street Photographer whom I l learned most from was the rather elusive, Vivian Maier. …. There are wonderful TV programs about her life, her discovery and her incredible work. FUJI
  5. Hi Anthony, Welcome to the TIPF Community…. you will ,see from my portfolio that I am a more than keen Street Photographer… It is best at first, not to try too hard, resist the urge to zoom from a distance, or use a long lens…. instead use a 50 or 35 mm equivalent , with aperture to start at 2.8m, with shutter speed up to suit the light…or…go fully automatic at first; so you concentrate on subject. Learn to blend in, with the crowd… look for the unusual, the amusing . Patterns…. Lead-in lines….contrasts…opposites …characters. Try taking candid portraits without being seen …. Or get bold and learn to request a portrait from a stranger….if they refuse a polite thank you and a smile let’s you off….use Silent shutter if your camera has it. Seek out and watch the many Street Photography tutorials on You-Tube… I look forward to seeing your results soon.. FUJI
  6. A fantastic shot Rye. FUJI
  7. Excellent family shots….I like vignettes for this kind of shoot. FUJI
  8. My newly acquired FUJIFILM X 100 V camera, can shoot on many different vintage film modes , which can be switched between very easily and quickly. Here then are two very similar dogs… the first on a simulated a Leica type shot in the ILFORD rang, and the other in one of the vintage colour film simulations…. The camera is a sheer pleasure to use. FUJI
  9. My first proper Street Photography outing since my pace maker surgery… cleared for action after Tests and examination. A few of my keepers. My newly acquired FUJI X 100 V ….is a truly amazing camera….. FUJI
  10. Yes! It all went well…..thank you so much for the valuable feedback on my other\ recent posts too. FUJI
  11. Thank you Rye….. that little dog us a great favourite in town…. FUJI
  12. This terrier is an official Care dog for his severely disabled owner, they usually travels everywhere on a large, covered disability scooter, but when I spotted them enjoying a coffee break with a friend at our local COSTA, the dog laid between them on a chair. The little terriers face was a picture…who could resist it….what was he thinking? Answers on a postcard please ! ;-)) FUJI
  13. Because I have a new Street Camera now, I can use my LUMIX GX8 with my large collection of Vintage and DIY lenses…. H Here I fitted the tiny Kern Palliard vintage Cine camera lens, Ho glued into an M42 thread adapter… It can only shoot soft-edged but beautiful , macro images… all focusing done by gently rocking back and forth…. Those ants are, milking black Aphids fur the sticky liquid they exude…. . FUJI
  14. A set of very interesting Engines there Rye…. … You live vey close to historical engines and rolling stock. FUJI
  15. Thank you everyone…..good to see you posting again Dee…. To bring you all up to date…. I have struggled with the deaths of both my brother and my childhood best mate, two of my other, photographer friends are at different stages of prostate cancer, and now, I’ve severely wobbled enough to require a permanent pacemaker ; currently I am at the convalescence stage, so still some way to go , but remaining positive. I have another good photographer pal, Brent, who is happy to chauffeur me around witting a 40 mile area. we make these as enjoyable as possible…he gets the fuel and parking , whilst I get lunch…. In between we have great fun taking dozens of pics . FUJI
  16. Ahh! Got it Geoff … it puzzled me asking to review my own shot….. forgive me…I’m truly ancient now…….. FUJI
  17. Am I being daft ? I don’t recall seeing anything like this on TIPF previously …..here is a screen shot….. FUJI
  18. WOW! and thrice WOW! …….and I thought that lightning couldn’t strike twice… This is a very real honour for me, Gareth …. .I too love this one, because the expression, accidentally caught is an absolute genuine one…. … I love , Street Photography so much…. Totally rewarding…never lose interest. FUJI
  19. Street Photography can be a real challenge some days……here for instance, when I pressed the shutter (I thought ), my subject was staring vacantly at the white teapot. ‘It wasn’t until I opened the pic on my iPad Pro that I realised the lady had spotted me from the corner of her eye, in a split second….. ‘I do hope she forgave me… loving this new, to me, camera. FUJI
  20. Off with the black and white and in with the colour……unusual for me for over two years now….. why ? Because my newly acquired FUJI X 100 V allows me too at the flick ,of a switch… ..to choose any one of a number of vintage film profiles , or even made up ones . ‘The recipe used here is supposedly imitating Leica camera colour rendering, according to its creator; there are hundreds of such recipes online now; this, and the fact that the camera is weatherproof were my deciding factors. The fixed lens shooting at approx 35 mm is very close to the LUMIX/Leica lens on my older, trusty GX9 , so very familiar in use…I have to get close, no zoom whatsoever. Now that I have the basic settings and the film recipe systems worked out , the new toy will give me hours of pleasure… When my post surgery convalescence is over, that is……I’m getting there slowly, but surely. Comments an observations on the pics and on the , Leica colour profile, very welcome….all shots from within ten minutes of our house, straight from camera except for straightening and crops. FUJI
  21. An incredibly beautiful study, that fully deserves the recognition given to it via POTW. FUJI

    TEST SHOTS

Frustrated by having a new camera , whilst being housebound , the only models I could find to test , my Fuji X 100 V , we’re myself and my wife . The current Fuji range have at their disposal , a series of recipes , for faithfully recreating the results from well loved vintage films, both colour and black and white. I used a vintage ILFORD recipe , plus a few personal tweaks to get these results ….I am very impressed . I can see and feel that I am going to love this camera, with its fixed 35 mm equivalent lens .
