  1. I want to do this but have no experience of it. I guess I have been lucky in the past.... I've just kind of made things look brighter on the monitor and the prints have mostly been pretty good however I would like to be a bit more certain this time. I have a Fujitsu monitor. I have seen that there are downloadable profiles for different monitors. Any experiences welcome.
  2. Hi all, I am in the process of resurrecting my interest and have now rescued my Canon pro 9000 A3 photo printer from the attic! It needs new inks. Original Canon inks are expensive (it takes 8 cartridges) so my question is what have members found to be good compatible cartridges? The Canon cartridges are chipped, I've heard accounts of how the use use of 'copies' has caused issues with these printers. I would appreciate hearing of your experiences with this.
  3. Oh ok that makes sense now. Thank you.
  4. Ok, the thing that made me wonder is why many lenses are described as 4.5-5.6 for example. I know that 4.5 refers to the widest aperture but what is the second number?
  5. Maybe I worded it wrong... I meant the other way around as in not closing down to a smaller aperture as in f22 which was common. Nice pic btw
  6. Many thanks, yes I'm dubious about ebay for such things. LCE looks good and very reasonable prices with a 6 month guarantee that defiantly looks like the way to go. I'm not necessarily looking only at Canon so will certainly look at Nikon too. One thing that surprises me is how so many lenses for dslr's only shut down to 5.6? Back in film days that would have been pretty limiting for depth of field?
  7. Hi all, First post and requesting some advice please. I am looking for a used dslr, up to £200. In the past I've used an AE1 a fair bit, my own monochrome printing etc etc. Then a Canon G4 which has given up on me recently. Still use an Olympus XA2! So now looking for a decent but straight forward dslr. I have always liked shooting in aperture priority mode. Not fussed about effects or WiFi conectivity. I have been looking at used EOS 100's, they seem to offer what I am after and are relatively compact. Any advice welcomed.
