  1. It's my turn to choose the POTW again. There was a short, but select list to pick from and my choice for this week is: "Mirroring" by CMunzel. I really liked the way these two birds were both standing on one leg and looking in the same direction - very well caught, Cheryl! Full thread is HERE. Gareth
  2. I have to agree with Jeff about Facebook. In theory it sounds a good idea to use a Facebook group to publicise the forum and attract new members but in practice, the Facebook group will draw traffic AWAY from the forum. A better idea may be to just do something like posting the POTW with a link to the forum and ask members who use FB to share it.
  3. Congratulations, Cheryl!
  4. Good choice, Cheryl. Well done, Paul!
  5. Welcome to the forum!
  6. Merry Christmas everyone and thanks for your support of TIPF. Here's to successful 2023 - both for the forum and for all of us individually!
  7. Apologies for lateness again! For most of the week there was only the one set of photos posted, so I thought I was going to have an easy choice, but then we had a handful of late postings on Sunday for me to consider. These included a couple of welcome returns from members who haven't posted photos for a while. However, I eventually decided to stick with my original choice, this frozen close-up from Paul: Full thread here. Well done Paul!
  8. Great set of images - they work really well in monochrome.
  9. Thank you both - that was the first time I'd got my camera out for a while!
  10. Great woodworking and photography!
  11. Another great set of images Paul. A stupid question, but I've only ever seen the word written down - does Plover rhyme with 'lover' or 'rover'?
  12. Camera Club Practical Evening... Glass in front of a projected image. Close up looking straight down into a glass with a coloured light underneath and some strands of something stretched across with added water drops. Oil on water in a transparent tray, with wrapping paper underneath.
  13. Congratulations, Vanguard!
  14. Apologies for the delay in posting this week's POTW! There were several interesting images posted this week, but the one that took my eye was this one from CMunzel as I thought it was just so... different! Full thread (including a possible explanation) HERE. Well done, Cheryl!

    Hi

    Welcome to the forum, Richard!
  16. It's my turn to choose POTW again... There were several under consideration but the one I kept coming back to was "Sand and Solitude" by Clicker: I love the feeling of emptiness and space that Polly has captured here. If you haven't already done so, have a look at the full thread here and decide whether you prefer the colour or monochrome version! Well done, Polly! Gareth
  17. Congratulations, Ryland!
  18. It's my turn to choose POTW again and the stand-out image for me this week was this one of a German Airforce Tornado from Colin B: There are several excellent photos in the thread, which is well worth a look if you haven't already seen it. Click here. Well done Colin! Gareth
