Beautiful colour John ... the cultivated varieties come in a myriad of colours   ... I particularly like the versicolour    variety  but they are as rare as Hens's teeth  when trying to find one to buy. They look like  candy cane sweets before they unfurl  and the leaves are  completely different too ..Did you grow those from wildflower seeds ...?   # 3  is my favourite  from this set ...

Polly... I got the original plant when walking in Pembrokeshire years ago, I just dug a bit up using my swiss army knife as I had no other tools with me at the time. I had a plastic bag in my small rucksack so I put the plant in there with some damp moss as I wasn't going home for a couple more days. I planted it in the garden of my previous home and it survived and did well. When I moved to my present home I brought a bit with me, it soon spreads and I had to really reduce it last autumn and start again, what's left has just started flowering again.
