I think the idea is a good one FOGEY ... I like  that you are having a go at manipulating an image into  something you see in your minds eye ...  creativity  is often a process that   one can see the end result in one's mind  and  getting the  skills to execute it to one's satisfaction is the bit that just takes  practice and patience ... I just think  it's a bit dark and flat .... probably the result of a bit too much texture texture  on the flowers  ... I really like the idea ... personally I would have preferred more of the flowers to have  been uncoloured and  I might have kept the hand  it's normal colour but there is an ambiguity  there  by leaving the hand in a monotone too ... I have played about with it too and have some versions  you might like to see ... I hope that's ok  with you ...

I did have the idea of having the hand appear pencil sketched, creating more ambiguity.
I take on board what you say about having some of the flower uncoloured, giving the sense of a work in progress.

It just goes to show how many interpretations can be made on the theme.
