This is one from 2013. It is the impression left by a Tawny Owl after it crashed into a window. The house is opposite a golf course with trees in the Duddingston area of Edinburgh. The reflection of the trees made the owl think there was a way through. A good reason(and excuse) to leave your window a bit dirty. Taken with a Nikon Coolpix L23 compact.

How interesting. Is the impression left on the glass some sort of matter from the owl? Seeing your photo reminds me of when a barn owl crashed into our lounge room window & just seemed to hung there before sliding down out of sight. It was over 30 years ago but I’ll never forget it. By the time we raced outside to look, it had flown away.

I had a similar photo when a pigeon crashed into our Kitchen window  Les..  Cheryl ...it appears to be a fine dust  that  is left as an imprint almost .. ah  found   the pic ...posted on here  February last year  ...here's the link to it  out of interest ..What amazes me is  that you can even make out beaks, eyes and feet !!
