Thank you John ... I quite like to pick random objects of varying shape and form  just to see if they can produce a balanced image by moving them around ... I find it quite a challenge and  can be helpful is determining how positioning certain points of  focus can make a composition stronger  or weaker ... it's an interesting exercise.....

Thanks Fogey ... I love  the way Hydrangeas  mellow when they dry out ... The Background was an old canvas that I painted and  then  overlaid with a texture taken from some painted fence panels that were on a derelict  shed I came across a few years ago ...  You just never know when these pics will come in handy  😉 do you ? I have recently been taking lots of  out of focus images of the colours in the garden to use as background bokeh for some images in the future ..

Having not been able to do as much portraiture as normal this last couple of years, I decided to try something different.
Having acquired a Nikon 105mm F2.8 macro lens, I thought I would try food photography.  Then I remembered I can't cook for peanuts and a few past their sell by date cakes from Sainsburys don't really look like I imagine my food photography would.
So I decided to move on to still life.
Itit is quite a challenge, setting up and lighting the subjects.  But I'm suffering from total lack of imagination and I really wish I could come up with such a lovely arrangement as yours.  it is so well done. :)
