Trains are Back

The first passenger trains on the ELR were running over the weekend for the first time since last year. However an issue at Irwell Vale meant that they were only running as far as Ramsbottom.

Is it still a DMU when there's only one car?

Strangely I think I encountered both those classes back in the '70s, on a school railway club trip to the KWVR, the steam loco was a BR standard-4 tank and then we had a single car unit back from Keighley (BR) to Bradford.

Nice to see the steam locomotive in colour Rye though the mono images always seem synonymous with the age of steam for some reason... it’s a bit like the fact that we often think of the world as black and white during WW1 just because so much of the film relating to it was in  black and white . When much of it has since been remastered and coloured it has brought a whole new  life to those images...
