It's so frustrating having macro as your only decent genre!

But what a genre, at least you are extremely good at what you do. Macro is not a thing I have ever done, and to be honest I dont think I could muster the patience it takes as well as the angles I would have to try to get bodily to able take some of the stuff you do :)

I'm curious - were these shots hand held?

They were actually. Normally I use a tripod though.

For these I was able to let the flash rest against nearby surroundings which kinda acted like a tripod for me.

Macro is extremely rewarding, but does require a lot of patience. Once you start looking for bugs you find them everywhere, to be honest it's no different to bird or wildlife photography, except you need to get a lot closer to your subjects....
