Very nicely composed John ....I have to admit  I'm not always sure about colour popping but because it's more than one colour ...ie the whole person, it seems to work more for me.   PLUS it  wasn't immediately obvious ...till I saw the palm leaves ...  ...

Thanks for the comments both of you. 

I tend to agree Polly.  The technique got a bad name because it was overdone a few years ago with red post boxes being favoured regularly.  It has its place but done for the sake of it, is a bit old hack.  This is marginal in that respect.  A straight shot would have worked I guess but I wanted to emphasize the subject and so ..............

Denis, it's done by selecting the bit you want in colour, inverting the selection and then applying a B/W filter to the rest.  There are other ways but that the easiest to explain.
