Inks for Canon 9000

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I am in the process of resurrecting my interest and have now rescued my Canon pro 9000 A3 photo printer from the attic!

It needs new inks.  Original Canon inks are expensive (it takes 8 cartridges) so my question is what have members found to be good compatible cartridges?

The Canon cartridges are chipped, I've heard accounts of how the use use of 'copies' has caused issues with these printers.

I would appreciate hearing of your experiences with this.

My experience with independently manufactured inks has been more about blocked print heads and to some degree, a lack of consistent results.  For that reason, until recently, I have always used Canon inks.  However, I don't print that much any more because I have stopped entering competitions and so I have resorted to independent inks.  Colour is still off to a degree but for what I do today, that hardly matters; although careful in printer adjustment might compensate for that.  I buy inks from Premier Ink Supplies and so far no blockages.  They are not the very cheapest these days but quite competitive and are are very quick to deliver if that matters.

P.S. once you are back in the saddle, come and join us and lets see some of your work.
