THE CREME DE LA CREME

My ex-pro shooting buddy has just treated himself to this Leica M 10....not new....but just over a year old.

It weighs a ton, but it oozes Leica quality and good  looks.

I can get him a bit rattled as he takes time to manually focus, or to set Zone Focus.......

It is surprising how many other serious photographers approach us when we are enjoying a joint shoot.

Just to be fair to him....I do fit my vintage lenses so our manual focusing is the same.

A rangefinder shouldn't take that long to focus -- even with Leica's very short baseline (at least compared with Contax/Kiev).

It looks nice, but I think that in the (very unlikely) event that I was to be in the market for a Leica, a late screw-mount or the M4 would be my choice.

Ha ! Ha ! James......

He refers to my auto-focus as........ hosepiping ..... because I rattle off candid shots from the hip without looking through viewfinder or at screen.....I reckon to shoot ten frames to every two of his.....unless of course, he is Zone-focused or, has his lens set on infinity.

We continually make fun of each other.
