Thomas bought an unopened (knock-off) Mechano set for a fiver at a charity shop in Harrogate yesterday - at a guess the original owner took one look at the instruction (I use that word as I can't think of another that is in any way forum friendly) and gave it away. This is the second model we've built and there are five more but my finger ends have lost all their feeling so they'll have to wait. Thomas got all the bits together, passed them as I put them together and put all the nuts on (he has little fingers which helps) and helped to tighten it all with a spanner...

They give you vague pictures showing each section assembled - not how to build each section I might add - then a picture of the completed model with no indication how it all goes together.  To be fair its a great kit for £5 and he's had loads of fun with it this morning..

Photographed my first Brimstone Butterfly today, whilst I've seen them fleetingly, I've never managed to photograph one until today.. (Apparently it's a Brimstone not a Hairstreak - still it was also one that I've not photographed before.)
