Another stunning shot of the filling station, there. The moody sky, the empty parking bays and the pattern repetition created by the fuel pumps all blend together to create an impressive image of a....... well, a filling station. Great work!

SR - Love your dog, he ranks alongside Jasper (BP's hound) in the lovable mutt stakes. Nice shot!

Spent the entire day from 9 am to 6 pm at Shelsley Hill climb....ten minutes away...and had a thoroughly lovely day . I am cream crackers now though... ... Having sat down for an hour I can hardly move now  but there are pics galore in the camera ... Hope there are a few decent ones  after all that. ....back later.

A couple of the volunteer Marshalls that did  brilliant job all day ...

Not a sliver of inspiration all day so this is a grab shot from a few minutes ago...

....on the upside this may be the last shot you see of my current keyboard as fingers crossed I'll have a new one (and the iMac to go with it) in a few weeks.

I have a mid 2010 21.5" iMac that while its is still running well and does a great job in general I'm finding LR and PS are starting to feel a little sluggish when I'm banging dozens and dozens of 32MB RAF files through them. It is not slow by any stretch of the imagination but its not fast like it was when I had older less intensive versions of the software and smaller NEF files.

I've got the cash (not unlimited but enough) to upgrade to a newer iMac so I'm just deciding on the configuration - I want the 27" just for the larger screen - that will get me the 5k screen as Apple dropped the old 3.3mp version last major update - I'm likely to stick with the i5 processor as the major cost of the i7 isn't inline with the performance boost - going SSD as that makes a HUGE difference - I will add 16GB of RAM from Crucial to give me 24gb total which will be nice though I have 16gb now. I've talked to Apple and as far as I can tell there is little real world difference between the M380 and M390 GPU's for photography work. If I was gaming (I never do) or rendering 3D work I'd pay the extra but I don't so that will keep the cost down a little.

They're not cheap but having had nearly six years from this one and still have it up to the job I feel its worth the outlay - one nice thing is mine doesn't fully support the Hand-Off features whereas the new one will so going between it, my  iPhone and iPad will be a little more seamless. Also when the new OS launches in the autumn it will unlock without a passcode as I wear an Apple Watch.

The boys are fighting over who's room the current iMac will go into :X
