  1. Now these I like, especially the first. Very nice set, Polly.
  2. Just close your f stop down to f 32 to make the most of the sun with a sunburst. I just alter the ISO to get my exposure.
  3. Thank you Polly. I used my Tamron 600mm lens on the Nikon D610 body.
  4. Congratulations, Denis. Your shot had winner all over it.
  5. No Gareth. The two birds top and right are in the one shot and the nearest bird is in another. All told there were about 50-60 birds flying around - didn't know where to point the camera at times.
  6. Horizon is still off by half a degree.
  7. The word in a nutshell is chiaroscuro, Matt. Excellent use of lights and darks.
  8. I love the composition of the last.
  9. Brilliant shot. Well done.
  10. I agree, Denis - but I can't quite put my finger on it.
  11. I was talking to a local guide and he informed me that this particular forest was in its third growth having been established some 250 years ago. The enormous lump of rock on the right of frame had a castle built on it.
  12. You could suggest it Paul, by all means. This shot was straight out of camera and I deliberately left the hazy blue trees to show the distance and majesty of the Glen. The foreground was an island in the middle of a loch; I used a 600mm lens to capture the moment and the background must have been more than a half mile distant, hence my decision.
  13. And who said Scotland was a small country?
  14. I think you'll find it's a life-belt, Steve. I was going to clone it out, but then I simply couldn't be arsed.
  15. I visited Llangollen today and was very disappointed. The weather was supposed to be sunny - it was dull, overcast and dank. The village was supposed to be quaint - it wasn't - there were major roadworks going on in the centre of the village....there wasn't enough room for the pedestrians there to swing a cat. The only redeeming feature was the river Dee and that was spectacular.
  16. Congratulations, Jon - a lovely image.
  17. Nice set, Jon. The first does it for me.
  18. I used to see these birds regularly, when I were nobbut a lad - a bit different now. Great shot.
  19. It did seem strange, seeing these summer blooms at this time of year. Lovely shots, Dee.
  20. Had my fair share of SSDD in my working life as well Paul, so I get where you're coming from. Your escape is to our benefit - amazing images.
  21. I can't add to what has already been said. Simply breath taking.
