  1. Lots of info on here, plus plenty of diy solutions http://strobist.blogspot.co.uk/
  2. chrs guys, much appreciated. Fuji, is that flash mounted on your hot shoe?
  3. A ques to all you close up and macro shooters. I have never really used flash for any of my photography apart from do's in my younger years with film, never on any of my digitial cameras I have owned. The question I have is, should I save up for a dedicated macro flash or diy a diffuser for a cheaper hot shoe flash. I may not end up using flash but I would appreciate your thoughts folks. I know I am early days with close up and macro but just thinking ahead at the mo. chrs Bill
  4. If you go for the belt option, think carefully where you position it, at the front, it will be a pain when you bend, on the side, you will continually catch it with your arms etc, at the back, difficult to get to and uncomfortable to sit down. Just some thoughts!
  5. Ffordes, Park, Wex, LCE, etc. All the well known ones have good used stuff and deals and will do px usually. I have had a look on the web at that clip a while back but ended up buying into this system https://www.peakdesign.com/product/straps/slidelite/ and its bigger brother strap for mf and dslr. From past experience (ex squaddie) things bouncing around ur legs/thighs and waist are a pain! plus you end up walking like Arnie with your arms sticking out.
  6. Hi Mick you will be made welcome here, I was. You will not go wrong with a pentax as you already have their glass, but there again it is not hard to find adaptors these days for any wierd and wonderful combinations of body and glass. Enjoy

  8. Decisions needed now. Olympus xa 2, Olympus Om1n, and a Yashica FX-2 I have never used (the back door seems a bit iffy for light tightness!) or pinch the girlfriends old Canon eos 1000 or Dads old Oly mju soom 140 compact thingy, we will leave out the 120 film stuff. will have to get some 35mm film too. Ooh ekk where me light meter!!
  9. BP, I am a bit out of social media type lingo, so I have to ask what is @ing and #ing? I read it as ating and numbering as the @ means at and # means number to me! but I still none the wiser to your usage. This thingy Ingedgemync has appeared on my post and I dont know why
  10. Well done Colin, hope to see it again sometime in November!
  11. Re posting, sos, it was supposed to be embedded!!
  12. Taken a while back, Teme Bridge, Tenbury Wells EDIT: Please do not post images with external links.
  13. put old lens onto a x-pro1 and you need the evf for focusing, unless you zone focus! I never use the rear screen except to view/show pics way after taking them and to set menu items. I have used live view a few times with the canon, but that is a rarety. I have looked at fuji x70 and similar but the fact of no viewfinder puts me off. Thanks BP I now know the camera I will get if I win the big one on a Friday night
  14. Yellow Skunk Cabbage, not as pretty as t'others but its all I got at the mo. Taken last Sat at Bodenham arboretum, Wolverly near Kidderminster, well worth a visit if you near
  15. Not even real cider, bloody foreign stuff!
  16. Check who has charge of the printing, is it the printer or the software controling the profile for the print job, or both!
  17. Congratulations on you pending retirement. ENJOY

    Windows 10.

Phil, I am probably classed as a control freak! If I had a laptop I would prob chance it, but I am not going to chance it on my desktop. Maybe when I next do a clean install! (I love to make work). I know a few folks who like you have upgraded and had no issues at all. I just like the option to choose which updates I install.

    Windows 10.

I not gonna upgrade, as I hear that you cannot choose which updates to install with win 10, all or nothing, and we all know that some updates from MS do mess with progs etc quite often!
  20. Come to think of it Chris, there were a number of shops dotted inbetween the fast food places
  21. Nice registration, shame about the car!
  22. Not done much in the way of panning and shooting, but zone focusing would work wouldnt it? set up manually using aperture for good range of focus. Software these days is good for rescuing the exposure that may be slightly off. Just a guess
  23. I had never even heard of M&S till I met my sweetheart in 198something and never seen one till moving back to the uk in 1986 and lived in Londinuim. Now, about Devon. where is it did you say? and Wrexham, is that in Liverpool?
