  1. Hi John. While I was aware of your long absence from the forum, I wasn't aware of the reason why. My deepest condolences, please take care. Phil.
  2. I don't know the details but I've just heard that Dee passed away very recently. This is the saddest news ever, my thoughts are with her family.
  3. Our host is not particularly fast (budget package to keep the finances down), which is why you may occasionally see this, but your error is a new one on me. I'll keep an eye on this topic for updates.
  4. I much prefer to see a Class A4 with exposed running gear, the preserved Nigel Gresley on the NYMR is the same.

    This Forum.

September 2006. The forum was indeed setup by a chap called Ben. He handed over the reins to me (and 2 others, Calum and JohnnyP, they didn't stay around for long, although Johnny did put in an appearance a couple of years ago) in early 2007, Ben's main interest was with film photography, with the forum leaning heavily toward digital he felt it wasn't what he wanted.
  8. Had to jump in on this one. Lucie is owned by Piglet from the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, my local heritage line, so I assume is on loan

Thank you Phil, and happy new year.  I have joined this forum as I have just inherited a camera and would like to start to take photographs of wildlife in my garden to start with...nothing to difficult!  I have a Nikon D3100 and would like to upgrade the lens, so any recommendations?  I will only be taking photographs in my garden.  Thanks in advance.

  18. Gremlins, gremlins, gremlins! Fingers crossed we're sorted now
  19. Once again I've been called upon to choose my favourite images for the In Focus challenge, and you lot don't make it very easy for me! The 3 stand-out images for me, and in no particular order, other than the order they were posted, were: Ryewolf loki JamesT
  20. I've only a very small yard so I set up a log I collected on a one-a-day, cut a hole in the side of the shed and waited, and waited, and waited, and.... Goldfinch - Robin - Dunnock
  21. Good morning everyone, I trust you're all fit and well in these crazy times. I wanted to jump in on this one because I, like many, am self isolating, not because I have the virus or been in contact with anyone with the virus, but because I have COPD and simply can't afford to catch it. Anyway, I saw Rye's post and thought I'd put a list together of some of the many, many YouTube photographers I follow for anyone in a similar situation and struggling to pass the time, hopefully you will find it useful. There'll be some larger channels that many of you will already know, but also smaller ones that deserve a watch. It's not my complete subscription list but some I feel you will enjoy. So if boredom does start to set in click one of the links below. Stay safe! 22. Howdo. Apologies for the late posting, good things come to those who wait The theme for TIPF In Focus July was 'Colour'. I've had a good scan through your entries, several times in fact, and there are some really powerful images which made my choices extremely difficult. I sat back and watched 2 episodes of Coronation street, made myself yet another cuppa, watched 2 more episodes of Coronation Street then returned to the computer. I remembered the brief and scoured your images again. I have finally found the 3 entries that I feel fit the requirements. So, in no particular order, and all of equal merit, it's congratulations to - sjr - David995031 - Denis sjr David995031 Denis
