  1. Evenin' all, just dropping in to say hello and to say sorry for not being around for a few weeks. I have a number of reasons, but I won't bore you with the details. However, all things being equal, I'll be back to annoy you all as usual in a couple of weeks. I decided to have a firkle with PShop & Topaz yesterday and this was what resulted. The original was taken in Austria in September - seems like half a lifetime ago. Korky Bass Notes

  2. It's never easy picking a photo that you feel warrants the title Photo of the Week. This week I loved Johntwo's mono Stainforth Force set for the detail he'd captured and the tonal values in his compositions and his colourful abstract of umbrellas and raincoats through his car window . Likewise, Colin's Sandpeople set which captured the very essence of the speed and movement and textures of the event was an example of his excellent technical skills that he always harnesses to work with his compositional " eye" that he uses to great effect . Fabulous images Colin ...and

  3. Stainforth is a small village just outside Settle in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It sits beside a river and waterfall (Force). The bridge is an old Pack Horse bridge and if you go there. avoid that as the route in. The lane from the B6479 is extremely narrow as is the bridge. I'd gone there because Salmon had been seen leaping the falls in recent years but I was out of luck. I ended up making this series using a 10xND on the camera.
