The moorhens on our local pool are exceptionally tame because, most have hatched out very close to the feeding platform, they only scatter for loose dogs:

I think this is excellent with good detail in the bird and a catchlight in the eye. But the background is what makes it really special for me.

As long as you move slowly and quietly the moorhens are very tolerant as you can see......she kept her beady eye on me though, I had position myself very carefully to get that weeping willow reflection background as I wanted to see it......the GX7 tiltable viewfinder is a Godsend for shots like thus, it means that I don't need to kneel down.
