I was lucky with the NIK software. I actually had one plugin from the NIK suite of of software. Next thing is I get an email saying I could buy the total NIK package at a heavy discount because of this one purchase. So I got lot.

PS CC is much more affordable these days although still an out going each month.

How much, out of interest? And does it give the full Photoshop monty, i.e. CMYK processing, recording of Action macros and droplets, etc, i.e. all the stuff that's missing from Elements?

Addobe Photoshop CC and Lightroom 5 - for this I pay £8.78 per month. This is the full software, no shortcomings.

Adobe Photoshop CC and Lighroom 5 sit on your computers hard drive as normal. Updates are regular. Always upto date.

Bummer :( They probably don't run in Snow Leopard. Why can't they do it like the online version of Office? Now that I'd pay for... ('Online Photoshop and LR', not Office  )

No idea about running CC on Snow Leopard. It runs very well on Yosemitpe. ;)

It's not for everyone, but for me it's an absolute bargain.

Ah, then that demolishes one of the two reasons I still use Snow Leopard: because Photoshop CS2 won't run on a later OS. (Unfortunately it doesn't demolish the other reason - that Snow Leopard was the last Mac OS that didn't begin to converge with iOS and gradually remove user control.)

:)  Now there I may have to disagree. I am really enjoying Yosemite. :)

Even that quite horrible Dock?? (Though I must admit, I would love what they've done to Spotlight - put it on a par with Alfred, an indispensable free app I use all the time  )

Even the dock, much improved on the eye in my opinion and much better for knowing what apps are still open before you shut down. :)

My Dock has little white lights under each open app, though I only Shut Down when I go on holiday. I do occasionally reboot though.  ;) However, I don't want to lose my Library folder, where I spend a LOT of time! Mission Control doesn't interest me in the slightest, Versions I already have (it's called Time Machine and I use it once in a blue moon), and Autosave and Message Centre are an absolute menace. Tabbed Finder and the new Spotlight I already have in other apps.

And why change this classic? :
