The 3 "chutes" also give me a great sense of movement, they plot the track of the guy on the board for me.

This shot is pretty much straight off the camera with just a slight crop off the bottom as a sail board mast was just poking up into the frame which I found distracted the eye a little.

Hi Festcu - if you refer to the championship usually held at Playa de Sotavento late July/August  (and well worth going to if only to see the wonderful beach)  we seldom visit during July/August as it gets a bit to hot for us... and thanks for your comment

there was a discussion on another forum (no I'm not saying which one but it was more 'sport' related than photography)  where this was said to be an 'action man' type figure and not a real person (apparently you can tell just buy looking at the photo  ) - just for the record in case anyone does think its a toy it's not
