Cody and the Retro Boys

Last Friday I was at a gig featuring The Jive Aces and Cody Lee and the Retro Boys.

These young lads are extremely competent and energetic, and got the place rocking just as much as the Jive Aces.

I wasn't there to take pictures but I stuffed my old 30D into my bag 'just-in-case' and I'm very glad I did.

Thanks all. I agree about the mono, it's very effective for this kind of performance, and that third shot is definitely my picture of the evening.

The third shot was without flash and is about 85% of the frame (40mm lens) so yes I was close, right in front of the stage with no restrictions on pictures after having talked to the bands before they went on.

I'm not as happy with the pictures of the Jive Aces themselves, but I have another opportunity in January so I'll take a longer lens that time.
