I really like the 2nd shot of Janie - beautiful light. Could have done with being a touch slower on the shutter speed perhaps.

I love the Canberra too, what a wonderful aircraft that is!

Small dust spot at the tail of PIII by the way - nice shot of the Trig boys.

Well done, Denis - another good set to add to the first.

Thank you James,  when I took the Mustang shots I realised afterwards that the shutter speed was too fast. Thats the trouble with airshows, cant ask 'em to go around again :)

Indeed! The amount of times I have photographed a lovely pass and then realised I had inadvertently set the camera strangely :)

I saw the two on the News yesterday - Vera plus that Canadian one. Wonderful sight to see them fly in and land together.

Dont you just love the media?  When did the name 'Vera' become associated with the Canadian Lancaster. Ours is 'The City Of Lincoln'  theirs is 'The Mynarsky Memorial Lancaster'

I think the term Vera came from the 'VR A' squadron codes worn on the side of the Canadian Lanc, I have heard the term Thumper applied to the City Of Lincoln... very annoying :)

Thumper relates to the current nose art which the bbmf change regularly,it is referred to by the RAF as such. Previously the nose art was the phantom of the ruhr and the aircraft was similarly nicknamed the phantom.

Vera has been picked up by the media from the Canadians themselves who refer to her as such, rather thanbeing invented by the media.

Seems reasonable to me to use nicknames sourced from the operators :)

Chris 'Vera' is the Canadian Lancaster as it carries VR - A  maybe this picture will help? (apologies to Denis for posting within his thread)
