On a Hill Far Away

I've enjoyed my time in Ulverston. A bit of walking and taking pictures, shopping, playing banjo and fiddle and dancing at the Furness Tradition Festival. The banter and the beer were good, so I now wait to see if we get invited back next year. This is probably my final shot from that great weekend; the Barrow monument on Hoag hill dominates the town and watches out over the bay.

I think I can understand why you left Ulverston with tiny, tender tears gently rolling down your cheeky little face.

 

It was the thought of returning to Morecambe wasn't it?

Ulverston is a lovely village, made worse by the supermarket appearing on the roundabout.

 

The folly is very nicely framed. You should go up there one day Martyn...

No, I didn't manage a pint in EVERY pub, but I almost feel duty bound to go back and keep going back until I achieve the goal. Sadly there is no more Hartleys beer brewed in Ulverston, but I did manage a few Robinsons.....
