Once again a really good week for TIPF with some superb photography and much coming from some of the ‘new’ guys; Oilypaul in particular giving us ‘Mon Ami’  and pauln’s 1940’s thread

But I’m going back to last Sunday (I was brought up with the week starting on a Sunday) for my picture of the week. a thread that shows you don’t need a ton of fancy lighting and equipment to shoot great promo picture just great characters a suitable location and of course wonderful camera skills.

Every photo in the thread is a gem to view but I particularly enjoyed ...

Oi!

I'm sufficiently into my forties to have grown up with vinyl - actually still own a good collection playing them on a Rega Planer 3 deck with a RB300 arm (a true classic) mounted with a Rega cartridge all through a Music Fidelity amp and Tannoy 2 way mount stand speakers.

Good choice! I never could afford the Rega 3, and the Rega 2 never sounded half as good to my ears, so I ended up with an Eastern European 'Project' turntable (not sure which model, but it was around £200 10 years ago), fitted with Denon DL-110 moving coil cartridge, linked to an Ion Obelisk amp. I used to have JPW1 speakers on fancy-dan stands, but now I have a couple of KEF shelf speakers. Still sound ok, though most of my listening is done through iTunes on my iMac these days.  :hope:
